Do you ever wonder what tools you should have if you ever start a business in affiliate marketing? Do you ever wonder how your site is doing and how it can be better? Well, I want to go over a list of recomended tools for affiliate marketing that everyone should have if they are ever planning to start an affiliate marketing blog. These are not required by any means but they do help significantly and they are free, so you might as well take advantage of them.
- google analytics
- google search console (formerly webmasters tools)
- Google + account
- Google Alerts
- Keyword tool
- Social Media Accounts
- Pagespeed Insight
Google analytics is a free service offered by google. It can tell you where your traffic is coming from. Maybe most of your website traffic is coming from social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Maybe it is coming from other websites that are giving you quality backlinks. It is also possible that your site has extremely good content and you happen to rank for traffic through the search engines organically. Either Way google analytics will tell you.
Analytics is also good for telling you what pages or post on your websites are getting the most traffic. This is important to anyone who is starting a business in affiliate marketing as it allows the site owner to focus on what is bringing the visitor in and making that content better and giving that content more priority over the content that is generating less traffic.
Google Search Console
Google search console is another tool within google that is free to sign up for and it can be linked to your google analytics account. The search console allows you to do the following:
- submit your website for indexing in a manual way
- submit posts for indexing in a manual way
- tells you which keyword search terms your content is being ranked under
- shows you if you have had any actions taken against your site
Google + Account
You do not need to have an account on google + but it is highly recommended. Why? Google owns it and it can have significant impact on SEO rankings. The reason why is that every time you post content and someone within your social circle likes it and finds value in it, Google will see that engagement and factor it into their ranking system.
In order to create a google + account, all you need is your gmail address.
Google alerts is definitely a good tool especially when you are trying to find new content to write about. You should definitely set up google alerts related to your affiliate marketing niche. This is so you can stay on top of the latest trends. For example, if you are involved in the fitness niche, you can set up alerts on workouts, supplements products, diet crazes, etc. By keeping up on these trends, you stay ahead of your competitors and you get rewarded SEO wise for keeping up with new and fresh content.
A keyword tool is a phenomenal tool to use and I have stressed out in previous posts that it is important. A good keyword tool to start of with is google’s keyword planner especially if you can’t afford a good quality keyword tool.
A keyword tool can help you in targeting specific audiences for your website and specifically for your content. Most people who are doing affiliate marketing know the importance of keywords with regards to their SEO strategy as well as being on the first page of google.
Social Media Accounts
Social Media is another avenue for your business that is strongly reccomended if you want to drive more traffic to your website. Obiously it is not required, but it definitely helps. In fact, it is becoming an integral part of not just traffic but also SEO purposes as well.
In fact, if you used an Exact Match Domain as your website and built social media pages for it, there is a decent chance that the social media profiles would rank first in the google search engines. After all, have you ever typed in your name into google and found some social profiles of yourself that ranked 1st? I know I have.
Some socal media profiles you should create for your business:
- Facebook fan page
Tiny PNG/JPG is a tool that can help you in optimizing your images. This helps because it allows images to be compressed. Whenever you use an image, it usually contains data that needs to be loaded when someone clicks on a link. The less data that is loaded, the faster it will be for a website to load. Best of all, the tool is simple to use. All you do is take a photo or download one, then drop it into the area where it says to drop your files. Then you download the compressed version of your photo.
Is this everything
This is a list of reccomended tools I personally suggest you use if you are starting an online blog with the intent of making money. These are all tools that I personally recommend and have used for my affiliate marketing business. While this is not a comprehensive list, my goal with giving you these reccomended tools is that it will enhance your chances of success even further when developing a website.
